In world of active geopolitical chaos, humanitarian and climate crises, what does the future hold for humanity? This body of work is a direct criticism of the ‘idea of marriage’ from an Indian woman’s lens. It explores various positions women are reduced to within the wedlock due to traditional and cultural norms imposed upon them by the society at large. This dystopia is sold to women nicely clad in the garb of social security and status while in reality, it tends to become a societal burden on them commanding them to comply at every juncture. Moreover the notion “sanctity of marriage” is often abused in the judiciary of India to an extent that it denies equal rights to women and further fails to protect them from physical, mental and emotional abuse. This exhibit is a mockery of this grand institution that tries to curb the potentials and voices of Indian women through patriarchal practices and social implications forced only on their gender. Through this exhibition I try to capture the many disbenefits that women are subject to within wedlock while also covering the subtleties of this patriarchal norm that suffocates Indian women largely.Press Coverage:&nbsp;
